Introduction and Basic Operation
The calculator is turned on and off with the ON key, and will automatically turn off after 12 minutes of inactivity. A () battery symbol in the upper left corner indicates low charge; To replace it (CR2032), see Appendix F.
The display contrast is adjusted by holding down the f key and pressing +. As for the keyboard, most keys have multiple functions: the main function is printed in white, while the alternative functions are in gold (activated with f) or blue (activated with g).

The HP 12c allows you to create programs by storing sequences of keystrokes as instructions. The programming mode is activated with f P/R, the desired keys are entered, and the execution mode is returned with f P/R again. To run the program, press R/S.
